Viacom and Charter said they have reached a temporary extension of their carraige deal. Charter Communications is a telecommunications company that provides multichannel video service under the umbrella of the Spectrum brand. Vehicle maker Vauxhall is planning to cut 400 jobs at its Ellesmere Port operation by the end of the year. The Ellesmere Port facility, which produces the Astra model, employs close to 2,000 people. Only 25 percent of the parts used in the production of Astras at Ellesmere Port come from within the United Kingdom, meaning the assembly line is heavily dependent on European Union imports.
