Mortgage approvals and consumer spending fall


It was the weakest increase since October 2015 and was partly driven by a slowdown in credit card borrowing reflecting worsening retail sales. Consumer credit climbed 5.1 percent compared to April's 6.4 percent increase. Remortgaging approval numbers of 24,248 were 10 percent lower than in May 2016, BBA said. Anthem Agrees to $115 Million Settlement Over Data Breach


U.S. health insurer Anthem has agreed to pay what would be the largest data breach settlement in history over a 2015 cyber attack that led to the theft of the personal information of almost 78.9 million customers.
