The United States, together with Britain and France, on Saturday launched a missile strike on Syria, saying it was in response to the alleged chemical weapon attack by Syrian government forces in the rebel-held district of Douma near capital Damascus on April 7. Russian officials denied any involvement during the most violent days of the fighting between the Ukrainian military and Russian-backed forces in eastern Ukraine in 2014, while journalists and Western intelligence agencies reported tanks pouring across the Russian border into the Ukraine.
Friday night's attack on Syria was not the first time the US bombed the country. "Russia was supposed to guarantee Assad would not use chemical weapons, and Russian Federation did the opposite". Global chemical weapons experts were travelling to Syria to investigate the gas attack by government forces.
