Popular Indian singer Parmish Verma shot at in Mohali

Meanwhile, the officials have reported that the popular Punjabi singer is out of dancer and is now undergoing treatment in Fortis Hospital, Mohali.

He was accompanied by a friend at the time of the incident who too was injured. Initial reports suggested that the singer was shot by the assailants after he had sent his bodyguard home. The singer and his friend were reportedly attacked around 1.30 am. The singer, who shot into fame with his song "Gaal Nahin Kadhnai', was admitted to a private hospital in Mohali".

Soon, he launched his production house named Parmish Verma Films through which he directed Punjabi music videos. As per sources, both Parmish and his friend were rushed to the Fortis Hospital in Phase 8 and the singer is now placed in intensive care.

Reportedly, both the victims are out of danger at the moment. Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Chahal was quoted saying, "Some unidentified persons fired shots at Parmish last night at Sector 91 in Mohali when he was returning home".

Dhahan's Facebook post read, "Mein dilpreetsinghdhahansariya nu dasnachaunda k ajjparmishverma de goliyabazianapamariya(I, Dilpreet Singh Dhahan, want to tell everyone that I am behind the shooting of Parmish Verma)". The post has already been shared 41 times.

In the post, the gangster said that Verma had "tried his best to escape, but eventually suffered".

In the post, the gangster also said that the singer had a choice of whether he wanted to "listen to others". The gangster also said that Verma was "lucky to be alive".

The gangster's motive to claim responsibility for the shooting was unclear.

Verma is likely to be provided police protection following the attack.
