Of the counties surrounding Philadelphia, Chester ranks first in health outcomes, Montgomery is ranked fourth, Bucks is ranked seventh and DE is ranked 49th.
The report found that the five healthiest localities in the state were: Loudoun County, Arlington County, Fairfax County, Falls Church and Poquoson.
This year, it was knocked out of the top five by Napa and Orange counties.
Hardscrabble and sparsely populated Cumberland County ranked at the bottom, as it has in previous reports.

"There is still much work to be done incorporating healthy behaviors where we live, learn, work and play." said Jason Garnar, Broome County Executive. "We need to make it easy for our community to live healthy", added Garnar. This year's analyses show that lack of opportunity, such as education jobs, and affordable housing, disproportionately affects people of color across the nation and within Nevada. "Our county's strong partnerships and investments to prevent and reduce chronic diseases such as diabetes, infant mortality, domestic violence, the opioid epidemic and trauma will continue to build greater resiliency and our community's health over time".
That figure is compared the U.S. average of 20 percent.

"Our vision is a North Carolina that optimizes health and well-being for all people by effectively stewarding resources that bridge our communities and our healthcare system". But health experts note that population health can't be turned around on a dime, and the county still lags when it comes to health behaviors and social and economic factors. "And so I think this provides good data for having those types of conversations".
