The latest on deadly package bombings in Austin, Texas

12 March 2018

A teenage boy has been killed and a woman is fighting for her life after a package exploded at a Texas home early Monday morning. A 17-year-old boy died from injuries sustained from the blast. The woman, in her 40s, was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening. The victims in both incidents were African-American, and authorities say they are not ruling out the possibility that these are hate crimes.

Out of an abundance of caution, police said they evacuated neighbors on each side of the street due to the fear that there could have been a second package at the scene.
