Mikaela Shiffrin won her second straight World Cup overall title on Friday with a third-place finish in a giant slalom race in Germany.
The American's only remaining rival needed a win or second place to maintain her mathematical title chance but she is not among the top-two skiers following her final run.
Shiffrin, shockingly fourth in the PyeongChang slalom, prevailed by.09 over Swiss Wendy Holdener in Ofterschwang, Germany, on Saturday.
Mnuchin says tariffs will benefit USA despite retaliation risk
The tariff talk "is doing no service to the loonie" BMO economist Robert Kavcic said in a note to clients early Monday. Of the roughly 30 chapters to complete, six are done so far.
Shiffrin notched her 11th win this season, matching her total from last season, and in her last possible race broke the record for most wins before turning 23.
Shiffrin already clinched a repeat World Cup overall title. Vonn has four overall titles, winning in 2008-10 and 2012.

Early turnout has been light at some polling stations in Texas, which is holding the country's first midterm primary. But Democrats haven't won a statewide office in Texas since 1994, and that losing streak should continue this year.
Holdener finished 14th today, however, to leave Shiffrin with an insurmountable 603 point lead. "I can really just enjoy the last races and not have to fight for points to win the globe". "But nothing is impossible so I am going to stay focused".
The three-time Olympic medalist did so with five races left in the World Cup season.
"It's an incredible moment right now", Shiffrin said. With one race remaining, she leads world giant slalom champion Tessa Worley of France by 92 points in the discipline standings.
