India gets 4GB+64GB variant of the Nokia 6

A new variant of the Nokia 6 is set to be launched in India on February 20 as per reports. For reference, the Nokia 6 (3GB RAM) costs Rs 14,999.

Other than the increased RAM and storage on the new variant, all other specifications remain the same. People who are looking to buy this one should head to the Nokia 6 (4GB) webpage on Flipkart and Amazon India.

Earlier, the Nokia 6 was available in a 3GB RAM variant, which HMD Global had launched back in January a year ago, alongside the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5.

The new Nokia 6 sports a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels along with Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. It should be noted that this variant is not the new model - Nokia 6 (2018) - launched by the company in January.

According to the report, the phone will feature a curved glass display with a possible 18:9 aspect ratio. Coming to the Nokia 7 Plus , this could possibly be the best looking phone from HMD Global till date.

Notably, the Nokia 6 4GB RAM variant will be available only in its Matte Black paint job when it goes on sale.

The Nokia 6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM (3GB in the cheaper variant), the Adreno 505 GPU and a 3,000mAh battery. Additionally, as part of the launch, an additional exchange discount of Rs. 2,000 is being offered.

Coming to the camera department, the Nokia 6 features a 16MP primary camera with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash. The phone got Android 8.0 (Oreo) update recently, but this still comes with Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) out of the box, according to the release. The storage is now 64GB, compared to the earlier 32GB, though it is still expandable to another 128GB via a microSD card slot. While it comes with the Dolby Atmos, the smartphone creates powerful moving audio that seems to flow all around users. There is also an 8MP front-facing camera with 84-degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. For connectivity, the smartphone supports options like dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, AGPS, NFC and micro USB port.
