An openly gay first grade teacher at Miami's Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School was sacked after posting pictures of her wedding to social media.
"This weekend I married the love of my life and unfortunately I was terminated from my job as a result", Morffi wrote in a social media post. "In their eyes, I'm not the right kind of Catholic for my choice of partner".
Morffi was called into the principal's office Wednesday and ordered to resign, her friend Katerina Reyes-Gutierrez told the Herald. They obviously didn't know Morffi was gay, however Cintia Cini said they couldn't have cared less when they discovered. They described Ms Morffi as a "great teacher" and said the school administration hadn't offered a satisfactory explanation as to why she was sacked.
"It's ridiculous. It's 2018", said parent Christina Lopez. "The way they handled this was just unbelievable".

Archdiocese of Miami spokeswoman Mary Ross Agosta confirmed Morffi's firing, saying that the teacher had broken her contract, according to the Miami Herald.
Parents were notified of Morffi's firing in a letter from the school that did not disclose the specific reason for her termination.
Instead, about a dozen angry parents showed up at the school the next day, demanding an explanation and speaking to gathered news cameras.

Reuben Foster Arrested on Suspected Domestic Violence Charges
The charges against Brock were dropped almost a month later due to insufficient evidence, according to prosecutors. Foster, 23, gave a diluted drug test sample and was then sent home after an altercation with a hospital employee.
"We were extremely livid", one parent told the Miami Herald.
"What she does at home, that's none of our concern", said Ricardo Oviedo, another parent of a child in Morffi's class. Her contract contained a moral turpitude clause. Morffi refused to do so, and she was sacked the next day. She just does everything in love.
'One has to understand that in any corporation, institution or organization there are policies and procedures and teachings and traditions that are adhered to. Morales added that "throughout the next days and weeks your child's daily school routine will not be disrupted as Ms. Morffi's replacement will be selected very soon". "If something along the way does not continue to stay within that contract, then we have no other choice", Agosta said. She never imposes her personal beliefs on others. "She is no longer teaching at our school", the letter said.
