Instagram is telling users when people screenshot or screen record their Stories

The tool only works when it comes to accounts that are public.

After adding someone else's post to your story, you can resize, rotate, and reposition the photo in your Story. The security feature will essentially put a star-shaped icon next to the person's handle who has taken a screenshot or screen recording of your Stories.

When somebody takes a screenshot of one of your "Stories", a sun-shaped symbol will appear alongside their name in the Story Views section, according to The Independent.

However, some users appear to have already started receiving screenshot notifications for Stories.

Whenever you take a screenshot of a Story or screen record it for the first time, Instagram will warn you by displaying a pop-up message that reads "Next time you take a screenshot or screen recording, the person who posted the story will be able to see". The move, which serves as a good news to privacy-conscious users, brings Instagram Stories even more in line with Snapchat.

Instagram is testing on an option of Regram that allows to post other accounts pictures to your Instagram story.

Facebook-owned Instagram copied Snapchat and introduced Instagram Stories back in August 2016. Instagram was also reportedly testing a native re-sharing button, but the feature has not been released yet.

The report quoted the company as saying, "We are always testing ways to make it easier to share any moment with friends on Instagram". It looks like the feature is now available to a small number of users with a wider rollout expected soon. It was labeled as "Add post to your story".
