19 January 2018

I Love Dick was co-created by Jill Soloway, who had previously developed one of Amazon's only truly successful series: Transparent, starring Jeffrey Tambor. Also lasting only one season is Jean-Claude Van Johnson, the action-comedy featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme playing a fictionalized version of himself.

Amazon's TV management underwent dramatic change in the fall, with program chief Roy Price resigning in October after allegations of sexual harassment and Joe Lewis, the executive in charge of comedy and drama at Amazon Studios, announcing his departure days later.

Doctor backing Donald Trump to serve out full presidential term
The alleged remarks brought down furious condemnation on Trump from Democrats and media talking heads. Meanwhile, one of the Democrat senators said that Trump did use the reported language.

However, the choice to single out One Mississippi and I Love Dick is unusual, considering both are enthusiastically feminist series both created by women.

One Mississippi, created and starring Tig Notaro, told the semi-autobiographical story of Tig returning to her hometown in Bay St. Lucille, Mississippi after her mother's death.

Watch The 76ers' Joel Embiid Curve Rihanna On Live TV
But TNT's Kristen Ledlow got the scoop after Philadelphia's 89-80 win that saw Embiid post 26 points and 16 rebounds. It all started with this August 2014 tweet where Embiid hinted at being rejected by a "famous girl".

Not lost on the show's fans is Amazon's singularly bad timing: Notaro was one of the first high-profile voices to openly criticize Louis C.K. for sexual misconduct that was long an open secret in comedy and entertainment circles.

I Love Dick is the series fromJill Soloway, the two-time Emmy winning director and creator of Transparent. I Love Dick is a series based on Chris Kraus's memoir, following a struggling married couple (Hahn and Griffin Dunne) who become drawn to an enigmatic professor, Dick (Kevin Bacon). The critically acclaimed series ran for two seasons.

Fortnite's explosive success leads Epic Games to reevaluate Paragon
With the game exploding, Epic said it was forced to realign resources in order to cope with Fortnite's incredible growth. That will necessarily translate into a slower "release cadence" of updates and improvements to that game.

Because Amazon doesn't release ratings, we don't know how well these shows were actually doing. The Palladinos and Catastrophe's Sharon Horgan signed with Amazon for overall deals. The news comes hours after the streaming service greenlit the second season of The Tick.
