Man Fatally Shot His Mother Over a Broken Gaming Headset

During the argument, the 28-year-old broke his video game headset and blamed his mother.

Police have arrested a Northern California man they say shot his mother to death after he began yelling during a video game.

A little white before 10 in the evening, authorities received an emergency report of a woman being shot inside a residence.

Nicholson's 68-year-old mother, Lydia, went to check on her son but Nicholson started arguing with her and ended up breaking his headset for the video game in an outburst.

28 year old Matthew Nicholson is now in custody after allegedly shooting, and killing, his mother over a broken gaming headset following a heated argument that led to he himself breaking it.

The victim's daughter, Autumn, says that Lydia Nicholson worked in local schools for decades and that she and her husband Loren Nicholson had been married for 32 years. A family member told Fox 40, "I understand that he would've killed the father too, but the gun dammed".

Police located him driving his auto in Riverbank, pulled him over and took him into custody without further incident. "The father grabbed the gun, emptied it".
