Baylor coach Matt Rhule reportedly interviewed for Colts job

Before that, Rhule was the head coach for Temple where he went 28-23.

According to this report from ESPN's Adam Rittenberg, the Colts apparently interviewed Baylor head coach Matt Rhule for the same position earlier in the week.

He has some limited experience in the National Football League, too, as offensive line coach for the New York Giants for one season five years ago. Prior to that, he was the head coach at Temple for four seasons.

The Bears had multiple players transfer and played a lot of freshmen this season, which resulted in their disappointing record.

Any lack of immediate clarity or lingering concerns on that front may eliminate some bigger name candidates, especially those with an offensive acumen like Patriots' offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

There's always a surprise candidate for an National Football League head coaching vacancy, and this year that candidate is way off the radar. After interviewing with the colts, Rhule has made a decision to stay at Baylor.
