Sony's 2018 4K TVs are adding Dolby Vision to their OLED formula

You can roll the screen up and tuck when you want to watch the TV. However, while we have had OLEDs for some time now, it took the ingenuity of a company of the likes of LG to actually make something as unique as a TV that can even be rolled up like a poster.

Shares of Universal Display (NASDAQ: OLED) surged higher on Monday, rising as much as 10% in the early afternoon.

The Alpha 9 processor also features high-frame-rate support up to 120 frames per second, removing judder or motion blur for high-action content like sports. Hisense brought budget TVs to last year's CES and it will likely do that again.

That's about all we've got for the TVs, as Panasonic is holding its cards very close to the chest - in fact, we don't know yet when (or if) Panasonic will offer the TVs in the USA, as the company has been out of the local TV market stateside for a number of years, but we expect them to be available sometime this spring. There is no word on the pricing and availability of The Wall by Samsung. In fact, LG's largest existing OLED display is 77-inches with a heavy price tag of $20,000, and that's only in 4K. You can also use it to search food recipes and make video calls while you cook. The display measures 65 inches in size. LG is just showing us one way of how its rollable TV could be put to use, which in this case is by hiding the display when not in use.

CES this year, LG Display is showcasing an OLED display that can be rolled up so it's easier to move or be hidden from view when not being used.

LG hasn't disclosed any other information about the product, such as its price,  but we expect more to be revealed as CES gets underway.
