Larry Nessar, whose sexual assault cases have rocked Michigan State University and the group that trains U.S. Olympic gymnasts, was sentenced Thursday to 60 years in federal prison for possessing thousands of images of child pornography.

Investigators said he possessed more than 37,000 videos and images of child pornography.

Neff ruled that Nassar's federal sentence would run consecutive to whatever prison time he receives for the sexual assault cases.

"He has demonstrated that he should never again have access to children", Neff said according to the Lansing State Journal. As part of his plea agreement, Nassar admitted that touching the women and girls was not a medical procedure, and he will not be able to use it as a defense moving forward.

While expressing gratitude to the federal prosecutors and the judge for the sentence handed down, Denhollander said, "Today the justice feels very incomplete". A 60 year federal sentence is tantamount to life in prison. Those accusations related to conduct with two minors in Nassar's swimming pool in the summer of 2015 and for "illicit sexual conduct" with two other minor children during interstate and worldwide travel, according to the plea agreement obtained by CNN. He then paid $49 to have his laptop wiped of the child pornography and threw away hard drives that contained child pornography, according to court documents. This week, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette sent Simon a letter asking that the report be released to him because its findings could be "critical to understanding the full picture of what, if any, responsibility other persons may have had regarding Mr. Nassar's criminal conduct". He served as the USA Gymnastics physician through four Olympic Games. USA Gymnastics sent him to nearly every summer Olympic Games, from 1996 in Atlanta - where he was photographed in the iconic image of an injured Kerri Strug being helped off a platform - to London in 2012. Raisman said. "Why not look at what about the culture?"

John Manly, a California-based attorney representing the victims in the civil lawsuit, said rather than apologizing or trying to help the victims, MSU and USA Gymnastics have instead offered a "hardball legal strategy under the guise of chic PR words". "What did USA Gymnastics do, and Larry Nassar do, to manipulate these girls so much that they are so afraid to speak up?" He lost his medical license earlier this year.
