Rupert Murdoch's LA home 'burning down' in wildfire

Southern California has been witnessing numerous fires burning over acres of land, ravaging homes and the winds are further making the wildfires so destructive that it is getting hard for the firefighters to tackle the situation.

The home of 21st Century Fox and Fox News Executive Chairman Rupert Murdoch, located on a vineyard outside of Los Angeles, is "burning down" in Southern California's wildfires, according to an NBC News report on Wednesday.

An NBC4 reporter was live from outside the 21st Century Fox exec's spread this morning as flames approached, but the channel switched to other wildfire coverage before it caught fire.

As Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti declared a state of emergency due to the fast-moving Skirball fire that began blaze through the outskirts of the city just before 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, many multimillion dollar estates in the surrounding neighborhoods of Bel Air, Brentwood, and Mandeville Canyon, home to the Hollywood elite, are in the path of the fire.

Murdoch's Moraga Bel Air winery issued a statement on saying, "The situation at Moraga Bel Air is very fluid at the moment".

A Moraga employee reached by phone said all employees had been evacuated, but could not confirm whether the property or its facilities had been directly affected by the fire.

Moraga Estate, acquired in 2013 for US$28.8 million, is squarely in the evacuation zone.
