Navi Mumbai: Juhinagar branch of Bank of Baroda in Navi Mumbai was on the target of bank robbers, who performed their activities on the lines of a British Hollywood film, "The Bank Job'".

Staffers of the Bank of Baroda's Juinagar branch in Navi Mumbai were in for a shock on Monday after they realised robbers decamped with valuables from 27 lockers. They then dug an underground tunnel, which passed under two other shops, leading to the area near the lockers of the bank. This shop housing private lockers rented out to people for safe keeping of valuable and documents. Their modus operandi - digging a tunnel through an adjacent shop, much like in Shawshank Redemption where the protagonist stages a prison-break by digging a tunnel.

Children shot an Northern California elementary school
KCRA reports officers are investigating at least five scenes in the school and the surrounding area. Authorities say the school has now been cleared and the children moved to a safe location.

Tushar Doshi, deputy commissioner of police (crime), said, "It is impossible to dig a tunnel that ends exactly under the locker room without having an idea about the bank's structure".

The bank, incidentally, had not installed CCTV cameras in the locker room to protect the customer's privacy.

What to do with Case Keenum Sunday
The Vikings gave up almost double the 16.9 points they had allowed per game during the first half of the season. To round out the NFC North, the 5-4 Lions are No. 13, the 5-4 Packers are No. 19 and the 3-6 Bears are No. 27.

Here's why. All bank agreements with customers availing locker facilities holds the relationship between them as that of a lessor and a lessee, or a landlord and a tenant, an RTI response revealed in a PTI report in June this year had revealed.

Bank officials called the locker owners to the bank, and the police have been recording their statements. Police Commissioner also told that they had found some leads and we are working on them. "Even though the exact valuation of the looted items is yet to be ascertained, it appears that valuables worth Rs 40 lakh have been stolen", an official said.
