Key Liverpool defender to miss three months of action

14 November 2017

Liverpool's injured England right back Nathaniel Clyne could be sidelined for up to three months more after having back surgery, British media reported on Monday.

"First and foremost, I have to say big congratulations to Senegal on the achievement of qualifying for the World Cup; this is fantastic news for their country and the players - Sadio included", said Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to the official website.

The decision was then taken for Clyne to have surgery and he underwent the procedure on Monday.

The number of North Koreans defecting to South Korea in the first two-thirds of this year dropped by 13% compared with 2016. South Korean soldiers ride on an armored vehicle during a South Korea/United States combined training exercise at the U.S.

Whether this latest setback for Clyne will see the manager turn to the transfer market in January, remains to be seen.

Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier look to be the pair in command of the right-back slots as things stand, but Clyne was a regular before his injury and could take advantage of a loss of form or fitness from either of his rivals to press his case when he returns to fitness.

As a result, young talents Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold are expected to continue filling in.

Judge Orders Deadlocked Menendez Trial Jurors To Try Again
Walls chose to send the jury home an hour early and asked it to continue deliberations Tuesday morning. Walls said the comments have had no effect on the jury and told the attorneys, "She was on your side".

"Obviously it is a concern that the hamstring injury is again on the agenda and it will be critical for us to monitor and manage that in the coming days", Klopp told liverpoolfc.com.

Captain Jordan Henderson, who last week pulled out of England's matches against Germany and Brazil because of a thigh problem which forced him to miss the win over West Ham, was among the players present but he did not train with the main group.

Clyne will have to stake a late claim for a place in Gareth Southgate's England squad for next summer's World Cup in Russian Federation when he returns to fitness.
