D'Angelo Russell to Miss Several Games with Knee Injury

14 November 2017

The Brooklyn Nets will be without star point guard D'Angelo Russell for the foreseeable future after he hurt his left knee in the Nets' 114-106 loss to the Utah Jazz. Russell grimaced as he hobbled to the bench.

Russell, 21, is having a fine debut season with the Nets. However, he had looked much better during his last handful of outings. In the season opener, Jeremy Lin tore the patella tendon in his right knee and underwent season-ending surgery.

The Nets acquired Russell in the offseason in what was largely a salary dump by the Los Angeles Lakers.

But "this one is for the kids" Mr Constance reiterated on Monday. Over 15,000 different names were submitted to the competition.

Russell is averaging 20.9 points and 5.7 assists per game for the Nets this season, both career highs.

The Brooklyn Nets' point guard problems have just gotten pretty serious. Spencer Dinwiddie (hamstring) is expected to start on Tuesday night sans Russell, so he could be an option in DFS, and there will also be more opportunity for guys like Sean Kilpatrick and Caris LeVert.
