Check out Emirates' new Mercedes-Benz first class luxury suites

Following the airline's launch of its new first class private suites at the Dubai Airshow yesterday, it has released the advertising campaign featuring the motoring mogul.

In an industry first, suites located in the middle aisle will also have "virtual windows" which project the view from outside the aircraft using real-time camera technology.

"We are excited that Emirates has selected the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner to power its fleet expansion and future growth", Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Kevin McAllister said.

The leather seat reclines into a fully flat bed and can be placed in a "zero-gravity" position inspired by technology used by Nasa, the U.S. space agency, which gives a feeling of relaxation and weightlessness, Emirates said.

Emirates' latest First Class product gives a nod to the design philosophy of the Mercedes-Benz S- Class, bringing together two global brands renowned for innovation, luxury, and comfort.

Each suite has a "service window" where customers can be served food and drink "undisturbed", while a video call function allows passengers to communicate with the cabin crew or request room service.

It's hard not to associate the word "luxury" with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, so much so that Emirates Airline used one as its inspiration for the completely redesigned First Class in its Boeing 777 fleet. Passengers can also enjoy the new virtual windows.

The termination of the order for 50 A350-900s and 20 -1000s left nothing smaller than the 777-300ER on backlog - an aircraft that seats 354-428 passengers in Emirates' various configurations.
