EA Takes to Reddit to Defend 'Star Wars Battlefront 2' Hero Unlocks

13 November 2017

It remains to be seen how EA will attempt to respond to this clear message from fans, but they certainly have an uphill struggle as Star Wars Battlefront II launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this Friday November 17.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 won't have a season pass, but players will need to spend in-game credits to unlock new characters. Unless you buy your progression, you're going to be in for those 40 hours for just one character. Star Wars Battlefront 2 developer Sean said the Reddit post wasn't accurate.

Texas College Apartment Party Causes Floor to Collapse
Denton police tell NBC 5 that they never received any 911 calls to complain about the noise before the collapse. According to witnesses, students were jumping inside the small and crowded apartment, causing it to collapse.

It's good news that they're already planning to adjust the rates as they go, but there's no guarantee they'll be much more reasonable than the roughly 40 hours of play now required to attain a single hero-all while not making any other in-game purchases to slow down the process. This was replying to a thread where someone was outraged that they paid $80 to unlock Darth Vader as a playable character.

The issue is a play mechanic called 'loot crates.' They're unpopular, especially among core players, but they're immensely profitable and are becoming more and more common in today's games. The statement from EA has had a large impact and has earned the post over tens of thousands of downvotes, which is a record on Reddit.

Quinn Nordin talks back to Jim Harbaugh after missed field goal
Maryland: The Terrapins wrap up their road schedule at Michigan State , ranked 13th before Saturday's 48-3 loss to Ohio State. To reach the conference title game, however, they'd need to beat both Wisconsin and Ohio State and get some tiebreaker luck.

"Right? Over a freakin video game". About the worst thing that I can spot in the comment is a disconnect between the first line and how a gaming community might search for their own sense of pride and accomplishment. After a user complained about the cost of unlocking Darth Vader in the upcoming game, EA's community team made a decision to try and smooth the situation over. There's no sense of accomplishment.

You could be looking at 40 hours of grinding to enjoy a feature that should come standard in a full-price Star Wars game.
It is now estimated that it would take "40 hours of gameplay" in order to "unlock one hero or villain". Still, it feels like something insidious is at play here.

Retail inflation at seven-month high driven by food and fuel prices
Data released by Central Statistics Office showed that inflation in urban India , at 3.81%, was higher than that in rural India, at 3.36%.

"Yeah except we have to work at it like it's a full-time job to unlock one hero". If you want to save your credits and still get a decent amount of crates, you'll likely be tempted to drop some cash on crystals. Following the beta, it came to light that numerous progression systems in the game had been changed. The second game has a single-player campaign, but the multiplayer experience is what most people are interested in.
