A Republican New Jersey official who posted a meme mocking the Women's March was defeated in an election last night by a woman who was inspired by his remarks to run for office, The Associated Press reported Wednesday.
Almost 10 months after the New Jersey Republican legislator shared a meme asking if the historic Women's March would be "over in time" for its participants to "cook dinner", a woman and first-time political candidate who expressed anger over the sexist remarks has ousted Carman from office. But when a local politician made a sexist joke, she chose to try to unseat him. "Will the woman's protest be over in time for them to cook dinner?" it read, according to Amy S. Rosenberg at the Philadelphia Inquirer. She works at as a psychiatric emergency screener in the crisis department at Cape Regional Hospital.
Duke hauls in its third-straight No. 1 player in RJ Barrett
Originally from Mississauga, Canada, Barrett will head to Duke next year as a polished scorer and defender. Barrett was previously a Class of 2019 recruit, but reclassified to the Class of 2018 earlier this summer.
Looks like Carman now has plenty of time to make his own damn dinner.
Carman, who said that the meme was "a bad choice" but felt that the women he knew were "strong and confident" enough not to be offended by its sexism, was running for a second term. "Instead of apologizing and saying you could do better, you disrespect people and say the people you surround yourself are strong", Bennett explained. "I am beyond speechless and incredibly grateful to serve my community".

The two-weight UFC champion chased the official and could be seen shouting and pointing at him. He made his massively hyped professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather in August.
Still, Carman's response to the controversy upset Bennett, and she said on MSNBC that she chose to run shortly after the meeting. Fed up by what she heard at the meeting with Carman, she made a decision to run for office herself.
John Carman's Facebook post. Her opponent, meanwhile, was recently forced to publicly apologize for wearing a motorcycle vest with a patch that depicted the state of New Jersey partly covered by the Confederate flag. "Lighten up", Carman wrote to one offended constituent.
