Jinnah university launches breast cancer awareness drive

This noncompetitive, inspirational event, to be held at Pennington Biomedical Research Center on October 22, raises awareness and funds for a world without breast cancer.

"This month we are changing our name to Pink Bay 6 Marine Park whilst trying to raise as much money as we can for the McGrath Foundation to assist in placing specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurses wherever they're needed, and make breast health understanding a priority".

The event honors all survivors and their families who fought the fight against breast cancer and won.

This program highlights the importance of early detection as the best protection against breast and cervical cancers. She said: 'After feeling the lump, I left it a week and then went to see my GP. Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women, excluding skin cancers, and the second leading cause of cancer death for women, according to the American Cancer Society. It provides a range of treatments and therapies from massages to emotional support.

'When I was told the cancer had gone, that's when all the emotions hit me.
