Twitter Suspends Actress Rose McGowan's Account

13 October 2017

Twitter has given actor Rose McGowan a timeout amid an uproar over sexual harassment in Hollywood.

McGowan's access to her Twitter account was temporarily suspended amid her vocal statements against Weinstein and the sexual harassment and sexual assault allegations against the movie mogul.

Analysis Twitter was today accused of censorship after it froze the account of actress Rose McGowan - who had just publicly slammed sex fiend Harvey Weinstein.

Though the tweets that resulted in her suspension weren't initially identified, Twitter clarified the issue to the Los Angeles Times.

In the future, REDcard credit card owners can add that to their Google Express account for five percent off most of their orders. With Google Express and your Google Assistant, shopping is easier no matter where you are or what device you're using.

This is different, however, from an actual suspension, where users are unable to view the account.

Other Twitter users have since devised a plan to boycott Twitter on Friday, October 13, in support of women like McGowan who have been silenced for sharing their experiences. She added in her tweet about Affleck: "You lie". She made a series of Twitter posts Thursday directed at Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos, saying, "I told the head of your studio that HW raped me". "We will be clearer about these policies and decisions in the future", the tweeted statement read.

Numerous critical tweets referred to United States president Donald Trump, who has been accused of using his Twitter account to bully, intimidate, make racist remarks and threaten other countries.

In a report last week published by the New York Times it was revealed Weinstein had allegedly paid McGowan a $100,000 settlement following an undisclosed incident in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival in 1997.

In fact, the national debt has actually continued to increase under Trump, and hit $20 trillion for the first time in September. But from his point of view, the just a few good quarters away from accomplishing that goal ahead of schedule.

"I was ignored", McGowan tweeted. "Suspend me too, please".

For Twitter, dependent on celebrities, the prospect of a showbiz civil war over the Weinstein allegations represents a major problem for the company. She said that during a cab ride with Price and former Amazon executive Michael Paull, Price repeatedly propositioned her and made inappropriate sexual comments. Jessica Chastain and Anthony Bourdain were among those who questioned Twitter's action.

"Twitter is proud to empower and support the voices on our platform, especially those that speak truth to power", the spokeswoman said.
