Golden Knights expect wide range of emotions for home opener

Initially, the pre-game ceremony was set to be an event filled with visual marvels but after Stephen Paddock took the lives of 58 people at a Las Vegas country music festival, plans were changed. Instead, the all-white boards simply displayed the message "Vegas Strong".

Nobody's mind was entirely on hockey during what should have been a celebratory night and a milestone for Las Vegas, which finally has its first franchise in the major North American pro sports.

With the win, the Knights became the first expansion team to start 3-0 and they now sit alone on top of the Pacific Division to open their seven-game homestand.
