The 0-5 Cleveland Browns announced on Wednesday morning that they will start second-year quarterback Kevin Hogan this week as the team travels to Houston to face the Texans. Hogan will become the 28th quarterback to start for the Browns since they returned to the National Football League as an expansion team in 1999.
Hogan, 24, will make the first start of his career over Kizer, who was benched after halftime in last Sunday's 17-14 loss to the New York Jets. He gets the ball out quickly and accurately, neither of which Kizer could do.
