Meanwhile, the National Hurricane Center reports that Hurricane Jose is still milling around over the Atlantic, but may turn to the north later in the week of September 11-15.

Fox News said Jose was downgraded to a tropical storm late Thursday morning, but said forecasters believed it would become a Category 1 hurricane by the weekend.

The long-range forecasts for Tropical Storm Jose now show the system potentially brushing the coastline of Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey next week, according to the National Hurricane Center. That storm has 35 mph winds and is located about 450 miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.

Jose will remain far enough away from land that it will not have any direct impacts on land for the next few days.

As of 6:45 p.m. the storm was located about 400 miles east-northeast of the southern Bahama Islands, said Rachel Zouzias, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

We aren't now as concerned with this storm as we have been with Irma, however, it bears watching over the next week. At this point Jose, which has maximum sustained winds of near 80 miles per hour, is moving northwest at 9 miles per hour. We are also looking at two areas of low pressure in the Eastern Atlantic off the African coast that have a medium chance to develop into a tropical depression or storm in the next five days.
