While Arizona is not along the path of totality for the 2017 event, it still lies within the area that will see a substantial partial eclipse.
In addition to its preparation event, the Fort Wayne Astronomical Society also will help people experience the solar eclipse by having members out from noon to 3 p.m. August 21 in the plaza outside the main library, a group news release said.
But the total eclipse, when the sun passes behind the moon, will be fleeting.

It's known in the trade as solar blindness or solar retinopathy - not total blindness, rather more like age-related macular degeneration, where you have trouble reading or recognizing faces, or lose those abilities altogether.
