Giroud header seals Arsenal win in season-opening thriller

Substitute Olivier Giroud scored a late victor as Arsenal staged a dramatic fightback to kick off the new Premier League season with a pulsating 4-3 victory against Leicester City on Friday night.

Substitute Aaron Ramsey slammed home and 83rd minute equaliser before Olivier Giroud met Granit Xhaka's corner to win the season opener.

Club record signing Alexandre Lacazette gave Arsenal an early lead on his league debut before Shinji Okazaki and Jamie Vardy put Leicester ahead. Danny Welbeck then made it 2-2 on the stroke of half time, but Vardy had given Leicester the lead once again in the 56th minute.

Craig Shakespeare's side boasted numerous players, and characteristics, that saw them shock the world to win the title in 2015/16.
