Larson Looks To Maintain Momentum In Brickyard 400

23 July 2017

Kyle Busch had a deal in place and was going to run in the 2017 Indianapolis 500 before team owner Joe Gibbs interceded and asked the former NASCAR Cup Series champion to reconsider.

Since the Chase era began in 2004, nobody has led as many laps as Busch has this year (953) in one complete season without winning at least one race.

When Kyle Busch rolls into Indianapolis Motor Speedway for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race, he will surely think back fondly on his visits to Victory Lane at the Brickyard. His brother, Kurt Busch, tried that in 2014 and finished sixth at the Indy 500 before a blown engine knocked him out of the NASCAR nightcap.

Next race: Overton's 400, July 30, Pocono Raceway, Long Pond, Pennsylvania.

Feige said it will be set in the "early '90s", but did not specify a year or why it needs to take place in this time period. If you needed proof that the Marvel and DC "war" is nothing but a construct made by overzealous fans, you can see it here.

"As a race vehicle driver you've got to be extremely focused, but I guess with this being my first time at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, initially I'm going to be a little in awe of the place", Finchum said in a press release.

"Qualifying is always important, especially at Indy because it is so tough to pass but I think if you look at the last two weekends, those were some of the hardest tracks to pass at as well and we had to start last in both of those and made our way to the top five pretty quickly, "Larson said, "I think if you have a good auto you will be able to pass, you can get underneath them and pass them pretty easy".

Finchum is also scheduled to race in the Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 18. The Xfinity qualifications and race will be held Saturday, the same day Busch and the other Cup drivers also will take their first laps.

Busch's last NASCAR win came in the 2016 Brickyard 400, and although he hasn't scored a victory this year he is now third in the point standings. "Retirement is fast approaching, so I'm looking forward to that", Busch told host Claire B. Lang on Saturday.Ryan Preece finished second to Busch in his debut for Joe Gibbs Racing last week.Elliott Sadler, by virtue of 14 top-10 finishes, leads the series by 45 points.
