Almost six months since he took office, Trump is facing a declining approval rating that has dropped from 42 percent in April to 36 percent, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll of 1,001 adults.

"The ABC/Washington Post Poll, even though nearly 40 per cent is not bad at this time, was just about the most inaccurate poll around election time!" the United States president wrote on Twitter.

That is the lowest percentage in the last 70 years for any president just six months into their term.

About 63 per cent of those polled said it was inappropriate for Mr Trump's son, son-in-law Jared Kushner and then campaign manager Paul Manafort to have met a Russian lawyer offering information on Democrat rival Hillary Clinton. In an interview, President Trump told Mark Leibovich of The New York Times Magazine "They want to take away my voice" referring to his Twitter account. In contrast, 31% said Russian Federation didn't try to influence the election and just 14% said Trump aides didn't help or Trump didn't benefit from Moscow's efforts. Even among Republicans, well fewer than half, 41 percent, say they're refreshing.

Trump has championed Republican efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act with legislation that the Congressional Budget Office said would increase the ranks of the uninsured by more than 20 million people by 2026.

Only 40 percent of respondents told Bloomberg they were either very or mostly confident that Trump would do what's best for the US economy over his own business empire through deals with foreign leaders. While 52 percent think he is trying to interfere with investigations into Russia's possible election interference, that is down slightly from 56 percent in June.

In January 1987, virtually every Republican in both the House and Senate voted with Democrats to create bipartisan select committees to investigate the complex arms for hostages scheme.

"But I don't blame her for Trump", Leininger said. A 55 percent majority say Mr. Trump is not making significant progress toward his goals.

But when she did return to her auto , Fowler didn't show any signs of panic - and even asked a man for help starting her vehicle . She was arrested late on Monday after turning herself in to DeKalb County Police, who had been searching for her, Campbell said.

Previous polling on this question focused more on temperament to be president rather than the amorphous idea of presidentiality, so it's not quite an apples-to-apples comparison.

While 32 percent of respondents believed Trump would build a border wall in December, that number dropped to 30 percent this month.

In fact, it's never been easy for Members of Congress to challenge a president of their own party.

The ABC poll was done via landline and mobile phone from last Monday to last Thursday, in English and Spanish, among a random sample of 1,001 adults. It was based on telephone interviews in a broad cross-section of counties that the President won during the election and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
