Flint's Johnny Manuel slays Whitney Houston song on 'America's Got Talent'

"America's Got Talent" contestant Johnny Manuel simply slayed with his rendition of Houston's "I Have Nothing", a vocally-demanding and complex song only the fiercest of competitors would attempt. Judge Simon Cowell asked where Manuel regularly sings, and the contestant told them that he got signed by a record label when he was a teenager. Before performing, Manuel continues, "As a kid I thought that I was gonna take off and see the stars, and obviously it didn't happen that way". Records, according to Flint Journal records, and opened for N'Sync, Jessica Simpson, and Jill Scott along the course of his career. Manuel graduated from Carman-Ainsworth high school.
