Trump Optimistic Senate Health Care Bill Gains Support Needed

27 June 2017

One of those opposed, Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), blasted the GOP bill for not going far enough to address problems caused by Obamacare.

Republican leaders in the Senate also have gotten plenty of pushback from conservatives as they aim for a vote before Congress goes on a weeklong July 4 recess. Collins tweeted that the "CBO analysis shows Senate bill won't... fix the flaws in [the Affordable Care Act]".

Other Republicans, like Collins and Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, had previously expressed misgivings, and Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska declined to say Sunday how he would vote. Republicans, who control 52 seats in the Senate, can only lose two votes to pass the plan.

But the CBO estimated the plan would reduce the federal deficit by $321 billion, or $202 billion more than the House version.

Microsoft's Phil Spencer Says Xbox One X Is Compatible With VR
When it comes to the central processing unit (CPU), the PlayStation 4 has a slight lag compared to the Xbox One X as well. The fact that Microsoft is not making a profit on the Xbox One X now, however, could not be considered surprising at all.

Their concerns about the measure include its rollback of the expansion of Medicaid, the public health program for the poor and disabled. "The Senate bill thinks more carefully than the House bill does about the consequences of different policies to the stability of insurance markets". In 2020, the average premium for the benchmark plan would be about 30% lower than under current law, mainly because those policies would cover fewer benefits - and come with much higher deductibles - and because insurers would receive federal funds created to lower rates.

The Trump administration challenged the findings.

For people considering which plan to buy, under the BCRA, the actuarial value for each benchmark plan would be lower, the CBO said.

For months, the administration has pointed to rising insurance premiums and reduced competition among insurers to argue that a replacement for the ACA is urgently needed. "There are provisions in this draft that represent an improvement to our current health care system, but it does not appear this draft as written will accomplish the most important promise that we made to Americans: to repeal Obamacare and lower their health care costs". The report notes that government subsidies under Obamacare help to insulate most purchasers from rising costs.

Toronto achieves 8-2 win over Kansas City
Osuna, who has 19 saves, returned to the mound in a non-save spot and gave up an infield single while getting the last three outs. Moylan had some choice words for Tumpane on his way off the hill and earned the rarely-seen ejection after removal from the game.

The Senate's 142-page proposal, worked out in secret by a group led by McConnell, aims to deliver on a central campaign promise of President Donald Trump to undo former President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law, which has provided coverage to 20 million Americans since it was passed in 2010.

The Senate revision largely mirrors the House bill passed in early May with slashes to Medicaid and Planned Parenthood funding. I don't have the feedback from constituencies who will not have had enough time to view the Senate bill. If that assumption is wrong, states would face an even bigger budget gap that would grow with each passing year.

If you remember anything about the CBO's analysis of the House bill, this report should look grimly familiar. At the moment, the bill doesn't have the support of any Democrat.

The Senate must not rush legislation that would throw them into peril.

Gov. Rick Scott Signed Bill Approving Medical Marijuana
The new law outlines licensing for 10 new companies as growers by October, which would increase the statewide total to 17. On Friday, Governor Rick Scott signed medical marijuana regulation legislation into law.
