Louis-area Man Named As Suspect In Congressional Baseball Shooting

South Carolina Congressman Jeff Duncan says he believes he spoke with the shooter earlier in the morning. Witnesses say he dragged himself across the field, leaving a trail of blood as he and the others tried to take cover.

Hodgkinson was a 66-year-old man from Belleville, Illinois, according to the Associated Press. "I can not believe it", she said. President Donald Trump, in a hastily called address from the White House, announced the shooter had died of his injuries.

Rep. Joe Barton of Texas, the team's manager, said there were "dozens, if not hundreds of shots fired", The Washington Post reported.
